The 'I think there's something wrong with my thyroid' Panel

Thyroid problems are estimated to affect over 4 million people in the UK alone. Unfortunately, the standard medical test only looks at a few of the markers that affect the thyroid overall. This means they often miss the problem altogether, or underestimate the effects it is having. Our total thyroid screen is designed to give the full picture of thyroid health status. We look at all the thyroid markers as well as the two main antibodies that cause Hashimoto’s Disease.

The Thyroid Plus is a hormone test that provides a thorough analysis of thyroid hormone metabolism.

It includes central thyroid gland regulation and activity, thyroid production and secretion, peripheral thyroid conversion, and thyroid autoimmunity. This hormone test allows us to pinpoint common imbalances that underlie a broad spectrum of chronic illness

Most standard thyroid panels only look at TSH and T4. This is not enough to tell us whether the thyroid is functioning well or not. In this total thyroid screen, we look at the detailed picture and include the antibodies that are indicated in Hashimoto’s disease:

  • TSH

  • Total T4

  • Free T4

  • Free T3

  • Reverse T3

  • Thyroid Antibodies (TPO & ATG)

As this is a blood test, you will need to organise a phlebotomy appointment to have the bloods taken. Alternatively, we can organise this for you.
